Ice climbing in sunny Norway!

I was pretty keen to visit this amazing area near to Aurland in Northern Norway. With its classic ice climbing and stunning landscape it is hard to imagine a more ideal place to  run an ice climbing course. Working for Martin Moran, there was a few guides involved and some rather good banter! The accomodation was indeed idyllic…

The routes there are incredible, ridiculously classic lines barely visited by other climbers. I’m always impressed by an area that has a variety of graded routes. You don’t have to be some sort of superhero to come here. The walk ins are short and the descents, in the main, are uncomplicated. Sure you can choose to get involved in some epic adventure but that’s a choice you can make before getting too committed! I’m now in Arolla in the Swiss Alps. Bring on the skiing….
